Homestead found!

We were lucky enough to find some land to rent! Here's some pictures!

When things settle down I plan on talking with county officials in starting to help revise existing zoning! Hopefully if enough people start talking about it, changes will be made.

Water Filter, Grey Water System and Water Heater

I'm I think the water system has been the hardest decision yet! We currently get our drinking water from a natural spring.

On a side note, there is a beautiful hiking trail to the bluff!

We believe strongly that good water is an important part of health, which is why this is so hard for us. We also believe our water needs to be fluoride free and have as little of heavy metals and toxins as possible.

We will be collecting rain water for the laundry, dishwasher, shower and sink. The skin absorbs 60-100% of what is placed on it depending on the area.

With this in mind we decided to get a large carbon filter. We may add more if needed. We went with Pelican brand because we had it at our former house and it tested well. (We had to test yearly to run daycare).

Yes it is big and heavy but you can protect your health now or pay for it later!

With the particle filter we are thinking something like this:

Waiting to hear from contractor to see if it will work.

Grey water system

This was tough. Here is the link that helped us with final decision:

At about 2 minutes and 35 seconds you say they have a 15 gallon tank to hold their water. We are hoping this will work for now. At some point we will do a branches drainage system but with little time till ground freezes we didn't want to rush the decision.

Here are some links for grey water system ideas:
